Context
A technical team fitting doors, wood flooring, kitchens and wardrobes across Castellón and Valencia. They don’t manufacture: they install, with their own crew. That distinction is the entire value proposition, because the sector is full of middlemen who subcontract and vanish.
The site had to make that difference obvious on the first screen.
Approach
- The copy carries the argument. “The person who quotes is the person who does the work” says more about the business than any list of services. The editorial serif headline and a photo of finished work do the rest.
- Static Astro with Preact islands. No CMS, no database: content lives in the repo. For a business that updates its site twice a year, WordPress would be a maintenance surface nobody is going to tend.
- Form on Astro Actions — server-side validation and transactional delivery via Resend. The validation schema is defined once and serves both client and server.
- Build-time image processing with Sharp, serving AVIF and WebP with fallbacks. Site photography is heavy at source, and none of it ships unoptimised.
- Warm palette over wood — cream, brown and gold, consistent with the material they work in.
What I built
- Static Astro architecture with Preact islands
- Tailwind 4 design system with editorial typography
- Contact form on Astro Actions with validation and transactional email
- Project gallery with build-time image processing
- Careers page for recruiting fitters
- Local SEO for the Castellón and Valencia area
Outcome
Live on its own domain. As a static site with no CMS, maintenance cost is effectively zero and there are no security updates to chase.
A note on this work
Built at Xpandex, where I run the full cycle: design, development, performance, accessibility, technical SEO and deployment. Site photography supplied by the client.
